The Cobar Enterprise Facilitation (CEF) committee, a group of locals dedicated to helping new and existing businesses in Cobar, held its third annual general meeting last Wednesday at the Cobar Bowling and Golf Club.

John Carswell was returned as the group’s president along with Sharon Harland as secretary and Kelly Beard as the association’s treasurer.

New members welcomed to the committee included Tracey Kings, who was elected as vice president and Tony Lord, who joined the general committee.

Enterprise Facilitator, Mark Workman reported to the meeting that since he commenced work in April he has been kept “very busy”.

He said to date the Cobar Enterprise Facilitation Project has 25 clients, 16 of which are people interested in starting up a new business. He reported his other nine clients are existing business owners who have sought his assistance on a range of business matters.

Mr Workman estimates an increase of $164,200 in total annual sales due to CEF activity since April, which is in addition to $30,950 in new capital investment, almost all of which has been spent in Cobar.
