Alliance of Restaurateurs Provide Tools of the Trade

SAVANNAH, Mo. – Are you the owner of a small town restaurant who is interested in learning how to improve your business? If so, the Northwest Missouri Restaurant Alliance may be just what you are looking for. The Alliance is a new group of peers established to help provide each other with helpful tools and topics of interest to restaurant entrepreneurs.

“I see this group as a way to get a second opinion on ideas I have for my restaurant,” said Kyle Stafford, owner of Gambino’s Restaurant in Savannah. “It is also great to see what does and does not work for other restaurant owners.”

The Alliance concept was generated through entrepreneurs who have been facilitated by Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation (NWMEF). The group of individuals came together wanting to find ways in which they could help others businesses thrive.

“It is a way to compare business practices regarding labor, time and money matters along with helping build strong alliances with distributors and a view of different methods of service to the public,” said Charmaine Flint, owner of Duck Inn Café in Craig, Missouri.

If you are interested in being a part of the Alliance you are invited to a meeting on Wednesday, October 7 at 2 p.m. at Goochy Goo BBQ in Savannah. There will be a presentation offering helpful tools in the areas of controllable expenses followed by a round table discussion. For more information on the Northwest Missouri Restaurant Alliance or NWMEF, contact Annette Weeks, facilitator, at (816) 262-5158 or facilitator@nwmef.com.

NWMEF is an economic development project trained by the Sirolli Institute and serves six counties including Andrew, Atchison, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway and Worth. Services are offered completely free and are strictly confidential. NWMEF is a not-for-profit organization.
